KNOXVILLE – Solinity, a progressive senior living owner/operator, has a new team member. Sara Mitchell has joined the team as communications director & client relations manager. Mitchell will play a strategic role within the company. She will ensure consistent communication both internally and externally while overseeing projects, objectives, timelines and deadlines. Solinity focuses on boutique-style, affordable communities in the independent living, assisted living and memory care continuum with multigenerational components. The company will initially concentrate on the Southeastern United States. This includes primarily Tennessee and the surrounding states for new development, acquisitions and third-party management.

“Sara is a tremendous asset to Solinity. Her attention to detail and experience communicating with diverse groups of people will serve her well in this position,” said Joshua Crisp, founder, president and CEO of Solinity. “She has a fresh perspective about senior living and a dynamic personality that fits right into our culture. I look forward to working with Sara to redefine senior living.”

Although Mitchell is new to the senior living industry, she has over five years of professional experience as an anchor and host for various networks, including ESPN - SEC Network and CBS Sports Network, where she produced, shot, scripted, edited, anchored and reported. In addition, she held the position of social media manager for multiple organizations and brings public relations experience to the team.

“Since I was in elementary school, I have always enjoyed spending time with seniors,” said Mitchell. “I remember being in our church choir, and we would visit local communities and spend time with the residents. I learned a lot from my close relationships with my grandparents, and I have a love for seniors. I am excited to finally become part of this industry and join Solinity. In addition to developing new prototypes for housing and services, the company is the new management for the state association - LeadingAge Tennessee and I'm thrilled to work alongside community executive directors and members of LeadingAge Tennessee to help inspire, serve and advocate for aging seniors. This is an exciting change for me, and I look forward to working with Josh to develop a new approach that will benefit the lives of those we serve.”

Mitchell earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Recreation and Sport Management with a Business Administration minor from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. As the Vol Reporter and production assistant for VFL Films, she completed her Master of Science in Sport Management at UT Knoxville. In addition, Mitchell has a heart for community service, including volunteering 300-plus hours with Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals. She also volunteered her time and knowledge by handling all communication aspects of Pedal for Pat, a cross-country cycling event founded by Crisp which exceeded its fundraising goal and increased awareness about Alzheimer’s disease.
