KNOXVILLE — UTK Debate is hosting a camp with Clayton Bradley Academy’s high school debate team. The members of the Tennessee Speech and Debate Society’s executive team will begin the morning session teaching CBA’s high school team lessons in public speaking, debate theory, and the steps to conducting effective research.

The camp will be held on August 19 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm at Clayton Bradley Academy, 425 Alcoa Trail in Maryville.

In the afternoon, they will host a mock debate in Public Forum style with members of CBA’s team competing against each other. Later, they will conduct a session debriefing their mock debate rounds and assist CBA’s debate team members with tips for improvement from their previous round, and the members of CBA’s team will mock debate a second time after the conclusion of the debriefing session. After two mock debate sessions, they will host a session explicating the steps which CBA’s high school debate team members can take to continue improving, Dismissal will be at 5:00 pm.
