NASHVILLE — SOLitude Lake Management, an industry leader in lake and pond management, fisheries management and related environmental services for the United States, donated over $5,000 in turkeys and grocery store gift cards to 228 under resourced families to enhance their Thanksgiving celebration.

Donations made through SOLitude’s Little GOBBLERs program this year increased 46 percent over 2015. Twenty-one elementary, middle and high schools identified a need for Thanksgiving meal donations within their schools and received donations.

The schools are located in Murfreesboro, TN; Jackson, MS; Hearne, TX; Charleston, SC; Lincoln, DE; Whitinsville, MA; Fort Plain, NY; West Grove, PA; Oxford, NJ; Lincoln, DE; Charlottesville, VA; Fredericksburg, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Norfolk, VA; Newport News, VA; and Whitinsville, MA.

The schools and families were extremely grateful for SOLitude’s assistance at this time of the year.

“We GREATLY appreciate the continued support that our community provides for our students. Through the generosity of SOLitude Lake Management and their Little GOBBLERs program, we are able to provide ten families with a Thanksgiving meal,” said John Zywien, Principal, Northbridge Middle School in Whitinsville, Massachusetts. He noted that one of the school’s goals this year is to develop more collaborative relationships with businesses in the community, and thanked Regional Administrators Becky Snyder and Ann Marie Meringolo from SOLitude for their time and effort.

“Little GOBBLERs is a great program that makes the holidays brighter for the families here at Morris Early Childhood Center that have fallen on hard times,” said Maud Forsberg-Davis M.Ed., School Counselor, Morris Early Childhood Center, Lincoln, Delaware. “The smile you see on the faces of the families when they realize that they can actually put a holiday meal on the table is priceless.”

Little GOBBLERs is one of several initiatives of The SOLution, a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. SOLitude’s company leadership feels it is important to not only be good stewards of the environment, but also to fulfill company core values to “take action and be accountable” and to “protect and respect nature.” To learn more, visit www.solitudelakemanagement.com/solution.
