MARYVILLE -- Tennessee Artist Association People’s Choice Exhibit is on display at the Clayton Center for the Arts DENSO Gallery now through September 27, 2013. Works include paintings of mixed media and photography. The exhibit is the People’s Choice Exhibit.
The public may vote for their favorite work after viewing the exhibit. Works by 25 artists are being exhibited. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 6 pm.
The Tennessee Artists Association was founded in 1974 to represent individuals who are working in or have an appreciation of fine art. The TAA is a volunteer association whose purpose is to assist in the personal development of art skills through workshops, classes and meeting programs and to develop market outlets for works on a cooperative basis. The works on display are available for purchase.
The Clayton Center for the Arts, located on the Maryville College campus and constructed through a unique partnership between the College and the cities of Maryville and Alcoa, is East Tennessee’s newest venue for arts and entertainment.
The 1,200-seat Ronald and Lynda Nutt Theatre features dance, theatre, concerts, lectures and other events. The 250-seat Harold and Jean Lambert Recital Hall hosts a wide variety of musicians and performers. The 200-seat Haslam Family Flexible Theatre is capable of supporting theatrical performances from amateur and professional companies.
