Artist Bobbie Crews to present at "Time Well Spent: Inspiration at Lunch"

body languageKNOXVILLE -- The Arts & Culture Alliance is pleased to announce a presentation as part of the "Time Well Spent: Inspiration at Lunch" series on Wednesday, March 13, from 12:00-1:00 PM with artist Bobbie Crews. Crews will present a talk on the current exhibition in the Emporium’s Balcony gallery, entitled “Body Language,” which features members of the Knoxville Monday Night Life Drawing Group which she coordinates. Crews will also show a presentation on her techniques for painting faces and people in watercolor and oils.

Bobbie Crews is a painter of murals, portraits, and fine auto art. She works as a courtroom sketch artist and a designer. Crews gives individual instruction and critiques, hosts life drawing sessions for other professional artists; and perhaps most important, makes art to increase the awareness of domestic violence. She holds a BFA in studio art from the University of Tennessee. An intuitive painter, Bobbie brings forth the human element in her subjects. Her work is shown in public, private and corporate collections nationally, locally and abroad. Her work has been in several group and solo shows. Her fine automotive paintings have been published in Hemming’s Classic Car and Sports & Exotic Car magazines. Crews will host a workshop on painting faces in watercolor at the Fountain City Art Center on Saturday, March 16. To sign up for the workshop, call the Fountain City Art Center at 865-357-2787. For more information on Bobbie Crews, visit or on Facebook at

The series, entitled “Time Well Spent: Inspiration at Lunch,” is free and open to the public, and guests are invited to bring a “Brown Bag” lunch. The interactive presentations will begin at 12:00 PM at the Emporium Center, 100 S. Gay Street, in downtown Knoxville. Parking is available at metered spots on the Gay Street viaduct or in the parking lot on Jackson Avenue caddy-corner from the Emporium.
