YWCA Hires New Housing Director

alle lillyKNOXVILLE -- The YWCA Knoxville has hired Alle Lilly as its new Transitional Housing Director. Lilly will oversee the Transitional Housing Program which provides a safe, supported housing option for women in need.

"I feel that this is a strong program that makes a difference for women in our community who want a positive change for their lives despite real challenges," Lilly said. "The women who are a part of the housing program are truly inspiring, overcoming odds and adversity to achieve the goals that they have set for themselves and often their families."

Lilly received her undergraduate degree from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana where she majored in Communications and minored in Sociology. She then earned her Masters in Social Work at the University of Tennessee.

"I interned with the YWCA during grad school so I already feel comfortable here and I know what to expect," she said.

The YWCA's Transitional Housing Program offers 58 women a temporary and safe place to stay. The program is designed to help the women from all different backgrounds become independent and responsible. The program offers support services and counselors to aid the woman's start to a better and more sufficient life style.
