First Knoxville K9 Cancer Walk

KNOXVILLE -- Knoxville will be seeing its first Morris Animal Foundation K9 Cancer Walk on Sunday, September 18, 2011.

Registration is now open for the event which will benefit the Foundation's Canine Cancer Campaign. This initiative will fund research to prevent, treat, and, ultimately, cure cancer in dogs.

PetSafe, located in Knoxville and a leading innovator in pet behavior and lifestyle products, is sponsoring the walk.

All dog lovers and their dogs are invited to join the festivities.

Participants are encouraged to walk to celebrate canine life or walk in memory of dogs that have lost their battle with cancer. Two walking paths will be provided: a short course for cancer survivors and dogs that are not very active and a longer path for more active families and their pets.

Additional event details, including information about our virtual Sit & Stay option, can be found at Those interested in volunteering for this event should email

Companies interested in learning more about or promoting the event are invited to attend a breakfast hosted at PetSafe's headquarters, 10427 PetSafe Way, on July 7th at 8 a.m. Contact Laurie Macnair at to reserve your spot.
