Region's Best Artists Exhibited During Dogwood Art Festival
KNOXVILLE -– The best artists of the region, selected by noted juror Virginia Derryberry, are exhibited at the Dogwood Arts Festival's Regional Fine Art Exhibition. This captivating collection of progressive emerging and professional regional artists voices the attitudes and values of our unique Southeast region. This fine collection of paintings, drawings, printmaking, photography, and sculpture of various media can be viewed at Bennett Galleries, 5308 Kingston Pike, through April 30, 2011.
The 2011 exhibition juror, Virginia Derryberry, is the Professor and Chair of the Department of Art at the University of North Carolina-Asheville. Derryberry is an accomplished artist with works in the permanent collection at the Carnegie Museum of Art and the Asheville Art Museum and was recently chosen as the Visiting Artist at the American Academy in Rome.
The Dogwood Arts Regional Fine Art Exhibition was developed to showcase and award the finest artists in the region, allowing visitors to gain a new perspective on the rich culture of our region. Four Merit Awards and Best in Show will be awarded at the opening ceremony at Bennett Galleries on First Friday, April 1 at 5 p.m.

Bennett Galleries is open Monday - Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Friday – Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
