Romance is in the air as Friday is expected to be a blockbuster day for weddings. Many couples want to be married on 11-11-11, so the Gatlinburg County Clerk's office has decided to be open on Friday, November 11 which is also Veteran's Day when offices would normally be closed.
Sevier County Clerk Karen Cotter has authorized that the Clerk's Office in the Shilling Center on Reagan Drive be open on November 11, from 8 am - 4:30 pm.
If you want to get married on 11-11-11, Gatlinburg is the place to go.
"Thousands of couples a year come here for a Smoky Mountain Wedding in Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, or Sevierville. The breathtaking beauty of the area's mountain peaks and forested valleys create a stunning backdrop for a wedding. No wonder we're called the Wedding Capital of the South," said Olga Wierbicki, President of the Smoky Mountain Wedding Association (SMWA).
The association, now in its third year, advocates on behalf of the wedding community to promote the Smoky Mountains as a wedding destination. For more information about the SMWA, please visit www.SmokyMountainWeddingAssociation.com.
