Live music returns to Market Square in September

KNOXVILLE - Live music returns to Market Square in September starting with Jazz Tuesdays on Tuesday, Sept. 5, and a square dance as Variety Thursdays on Sept. 21.

The Jazz on the Square concert series is part of Concerts on the Square presented by Comcast, produced by the City’s Office of Special Events with additional support from Downtown Knoxville Alliance, Knoxville TVA Employees Credit Union, Xfinity, B97.5 FM and the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra.

Jazz Tuesdays performers:

Sept. 5 – Larry Vincent Quartet
Sept. 12 – Denin Koch Quartet
Sept. 19 – Scott Simmerman & Friends
Sept. 26 – Shawn Turner & Pinky Ring

Variety Thursdays: The final installment of Variety Thursdays will be Sept. 21, with Square Dancing on the Square. Dancers are encouraged to dance in the square to a live band and a professional caller.

All performances are 7 - 9 p.m.

Attendees should bring their own chairs for first-come, first-served seating. No food or beer will be sold on Market Square. Food is available from restaurants for take-out, but alcohol can only be consumed inside establishments or on their patios. Parking at City-owned garages is free after 6 p.m.
