A Celebration of Fermentation

MARYVILLE, TN -- Hops in the Hills, an annual craft brewing festival, is set to return on June 23 and June 24, 2023, for its eighth year. It will offer people across the region entertainment and exceptional beer.

The festival will allow attendees to sample local craft beer from the best breweries in the region.

Hops in the Hills is the perfect event for beer enthusiasts and has drawn attendees from across the region. The festival features almost 30 of the most well-known breweries in the region, including Blackhorse Brewery, Gatlinburg Brewing Company, SweetWater Brewing and many more.

At the event, attendees will sip samples from the vendors, while milling about the Maryville Greenway Amphitheater enjoying games, lounging and listening to live music. They will be able to interact with master brewers to learn about the beer they are tasting.

While the main festival activities take place on Friday and Saturday, the entire week is dedicated to a celebration of fermentation. Kicking off on Monday and running through Thursday there will be featured breweries that anyone can visit to gear up for the weekend. Games, prizes and music will be at each stop so the community can get a taste of what’s to come.

“Hops in the Hills is a great way for people to experience the Smoky Mountains and Maryville’s vibrant, historic downtown and thriving craft beer scene,” says Blount Partnership Tourism Director Kim Mitchell. “It’s always highly anticipated.”

Friday, June 23, will begin the annual Hops in the Hills Brew Crawl. Stops will include Maryville favorites like The Casual Pint, Broadway Social, Blackberry Farm Brewery and long-time favorite, Tri-Hop Brewery. This event is a unique and fun way to experience the town’s bars and restaurants and to try the local and regional beers before the main event the next day. The crawl will begin at 6 p.m. and run until 10 p.m. Tickets for this event are $15 per person, but remember no ID, no crawl.

On Saturday, June 24, Hops in the Hills starts at 5 p.m. at the Maryville Greenway Amphitheater. Tickets start at $65 per person and include samples of craft beer, food and an official event t-shirt. Tickets for our designated driving friends are $40 and include everything but the beer. This festival is a 21-and-over event.
