Pivot Point Fine Art Gallery open, expanding collection in historic Emory Place
June 10, 2022

Pivot Point Fine Art Gallery is open to the public and expanding its collection of work. Located just north of downtown Knoxville at 15 Emory Place, the new retailer’s repertoire includes art by established and emerging talent from around the world. The variety of styles and materials are best experienced in person to ensure that art enthusiasts will find the perfect piece for their space.

The Knoxville-based gallery is convenient for residents who might otherwise have to travel to other cities such as Atlanta or Nashville for a similar range of art preference and price. Owners Don Stoner and Faith Ferguson invite everyone to explore the gallery, whether a longtime collector or first-time buyer. “We have met so many incredible artists and patrons within our first weeks of opening,” Stoner said. “It is evident that East Tennessee is the place for Pivot Point. We’re closing a gap that existed between buyers and artists in this area while providing high-quality, affordable art that this community has desired for decades.”

Stoner and Ferguson are adding new work by featured artists. From nature-inspired watercolor paintings to 3D clay sculptures, Pivot Point’s inventory of art will appeal to all audiences. As art is purchased, the owners plan to replace the pieces with new work and, eventually, introduce more local, regional and internationally renowned talent to Knoxville collectors.

“The purpose of Pivot Point is to uplift artists, many of whom live locally, so that their work is approachable to the general public,” Ferguson said. “We want everyone to be able to access and enjoy the art created in our community and admired around the world.”

Pivot Point Gallery is open on Wednesdays from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. and Thursday-Saturday from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Visitors also are encouraged to schedule private viewing appointments, during which Stoner and Ferguson will personally guide them through the gallery and help select pieces for their space.

The historic 130-year-old building faces Gay Street heading south into downtown Knoxville, and nearby public parking is available. Pivot Point is the most recent addition in a project to transform the Emory Place neighborhood into an arts destination. The gallery will host monthly exhibitions and other special events.
