KNOXVILLE, TN -- While MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes, the 90-plus-unit “better burger” concept, has experienced tremendous success with franchise development as of late, the brand congratulates owners in the current system for the contributions they have made. The franchise recently recognized a number of franchisees who have hit significant milestones in 2022.

Josh Lovett, of the Knoxville MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes location, was awarded the title of ‘Single Unit Franchisee of the Year.’ Lovett has been with the brand for a number of years, working his way up from general manager to franchise owner.

“Being recognized as ‘Franchisee of the Year’ has been a tremendous honor. I’m over the moon about this award,” said Lovett. “I truly believe in the MOOYAH system and have spent the last few years putting my all into this brand and dedicating myself to serving our customers in Knoxville. I’m proud to be part of a franchise that rewards its team for hard work and impact.”

Lovett has extensive experience in the food industry, working as a server, bartender, and later manager at several eatery concepts like Olive Garden and CiCi’s Pizza. The University of Tennessee alum opened Soups and Scoops Café, a mom-and-pop restaurant with his wife Kara, which they later sold.

When he started out as a general manager at MOOYAH, he quickly realized the benefits available to those who are part of a large network of support. And when he had the opportunity to purchase the franchise location from his partner, he knew it was a great investment.

Since becoming the sole owner of the Knoxville location in December 2020, Lovett’s operations have thrived. He is proud to be an important link in the MOOYAH system, helping to grow the brand name in his community. The Knoxville MOOYAH was the first in the state; a Brentwood location later opened as well.

“I’m excited every day to deliver the MOOYAH experience to our customers,” said Lovett. “With our phenomenal menu options and the care we offer to our guests is an easy sell; once someone tries MOOYAH, they will be back for life.”

MOOYAH leadership is thrilled to have an enthusiastic operator like Lovett on the team and is happy to recognize his successes with the ‘Franchisee of the Year’ title.

“Josh has been a vital part of this franchise system. His commitment to MOOYAH is shown every single day, and the brand is excited to recognize him with this award,” explained Doug Willmarth, president. “As our company continues to scale and grow, it’s very important to us that we highlight the members of this organization who have made that possible.”

The Knoxville Mooyah Burgers is located at 7301 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919.
