PIGEON FORGE, TN -- Escapology, Trip Advisor’s #1 rated escape room, is opening its newest location in Pigeon Forge on Friday, September 2nd. The new Escapology is located at 2655 Teaster Lane, next to the Mountain Monster thrill ride, in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains.

"We can’t wait for Pigeon Forge residents and visitors to try to break out of our new Escapology escape rooms,” said Burton Heiss, CEO of Escapology. “Can you crack the code and find the hidden clues in 60 nail-biting minutes? We are so excited to become part of the community in Pigeon Forge.”

Police and area youth work together to solve riddles
The grand opening of the new Pigeon Forge location will take place on September 2nd at 10:00 AM EST. The opening will showcase a partnership of top Pigeon Forge police officers with local kids from the Boys & Girls Club of the Smoky Mountains, as they work together to solve Escapology’s toughest games. The event is an attempt to bring together youth and police to solve problems together and have fun--all with a clock rapidly ticking down.

"We would like to thank Escapology for the opportunity for us to participate in the grand opening on September 2. We love to interact with our business community, and this is a great opportunity to team with the Boys and Girls Club for the event. We have a great partnership with the Boys and Girls Club. Our Officers have donated their time to support and mentor our young people and this event will only strengthen that relationship. We look forward to competing against them!" said Pigeon Forge Police Chief Richard Catlett.

As part of the big opening, Escapology will donate $5,000 to the Boys & Girls Club, an essential non-profit organization that is committed to helping kids in the Sevier County region reach their full potential by providing leadership opportunities, stimulating academic programs, and a safe, positive environment.

"We are so thankful to Escapology for their generous donation to our organization. It will help so many kids in the Smoky Mountain area reach their goals. Our kids can’t wait to play!” said Mark Ross, Chief Professional Officer of the Boys & Girls Club.

At Escapology, up to 8 players at a time are locked in a room for 60 minutes, and must use their wits to escape. At the new Pigeon Forge location, games include Murder on the Orient Express; Star Trek: Quantum Filament; Scooby-Doo and the Spooky Castle Adventure; Mansion Murder, Who Stole the Mona Lisa, and Lost City.

Escape rooms are among the fastest growing entertainment venues in the United States, and Escapology is the market leader in its field. The company opened its first venue in Orlando in 2014 and today operates more than 60 Escapology locations around the world, with an additional 30 signed or under construction. Escapology operates in the US, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Chile, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and the UAE.

The Pigeon Forge Escapology is on Teaster Lane near the Downtown Flavortown Restaurant in the Tower Shops mall. It marks Escapology’s first location in Sevier County and its third in Tennessee.

Escapology will hire 25-30 employees to staff the new Pigeon Forge location, adding jobs to the vibrant local economy. “With Pigeon Forge’s great mix of tourists, successful and established entertainment venues, and skilled labor force, it was a no-brainer why we decided to bring Escapology here,” said CEO Burton Heiss.
