KNOXVILLE - UScellular has announced the winners of its Seventh Annual Black History Month Art Contest that was held in conjunction with the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley in recognition of influential Black icons in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

This year, UScellular introduced a new element to the contest with Boys & Girls Club members encouraged to create original pieces of artwork in recognition of STEM icons, including historical figures, world leaders, scientists and educators. Representatives from the Boys & Girls Clubs and local UScellular leaders chose 10 finalists based on creativity, quality, interpretation, clarity of theme and overall impression. Public voting for the finalists was made available online throughout the month of February. In addition, the finalists’ artwork was digitally displayed in select stores.

The winning artists earned gift cards during a celebration at the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Tennessee Valley in the following amounts:

Alina Fominy, $250, first place
Keith Seay, $150, second place
Roman Staples, $100, third place
