KNOXVILLE -- Always Together, a short film written and directed by Knoxville native, Steven Wesley Miller & produced by The Frame Theory, was awarded the jury prize for Best US Narrative Short at the 24th Annual Sarasota Film Festival. Awards were announced Monday, April 11, 2022.

Always Together is a unique story inspired by an article in the New Yorker about Japan’s “rent a family” industry. Starring Susan Ortiz (Promised Land and Criminal Minds) and James Kyson (Heroes and Justified), this story finds its heart at the intersection of technology and human connection.

The Sarasota Film Festival has a reputation for being a ‘filmmakers festival’ and a haven for independent and socially conscious cinema. The festival was held April 1, 2022 - April 10, 2022. Always Together was selected from over 2,500 submissions.

Produced in Knoxville during Spring of 2021, Always Together is the first original narrative short The Frame Theory has produced. The company held a private screening of the film in conjunction with the festival, at local Knoxville venue, Central Cinema.

The Sarasota Film Festival, founded in 1998, is an international film festival hosted in Sarasota, Florida and viewable from around the world.
