The WordPlayers Presents: The Fantasticks

The longest running musical in the world, The Fantasticks, will be performed by The WordPlayers in the Old City Performing Arts Center located at 111 State St, Knoxville on July 15, 16, 17 @ 7:30 PM and July 18 @ 2:30 PM. “Try To Remember” a time when this romantic charmer wasn't enchanting audiences around the world. Tom Jones (book & lyrics) and Harvey Schmidt (music) crafted a timeless fable of love that manages to be nostalgic and universal at the same time. At the heart of its breathtaking poetry and subtle theatrical sophistication is a purity and simplicity that transcends cultural barriers (suggested for ages 12+).

The WordPlayers is a 501(c)3 theatre organization based in Knoxville TN. The Fantasticks is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI) and sponsored by Warren & Kathy Payne, Ron & Peggy Turner, The Kiwanis Club of Northside Knoxville, Home Federal Bank, Jim & Leann Dickson and Leslie A.
