Michael Waltrip Brewing’s Line-up of beers available week of July 5th in Knoxville
July 4, 2021

KNOXVILLE - Michael Waltrip Brewing Company, founded by the two-time Daytona 500 champion, has announced a distribution agreement for Tennessee with Lipman Brothers of Nashville.

In March, Michael Waltrip Brewing Company announced the opening of a new brewery and taproom in downtown Bristol, Va., scheduled to open this summer at 221 Moore St. The Lipman Brothers agreement fast forwards the availability of the company’s selections of beer in retail stores throughout Tennessee beginning the week of July 5th.

Tennessee becomes the fifth state in which Michael Waltrip Brewing Company beers are available, giving the brand a strong presence in the Southeast. Tennessee joins Arizona, Idaho, Oregon and Wyoming where Michael Waltrip’s brand is currently available. The beers will be available at retailers such as Food City and also in restaurants and bars throughout Tennessee.

The company finalized an agreement with Lipman Brothers to distribute Waltrip’s Two-Time lineup of beers which includes: “Blonde” Ale; “Checkered Past,” a coconut IPA; and “Vamanos,” a Mexican-style Lager. Each of the beers was developed by Waltrip and the brewery team and stems from his own quest to enjoy life’s moments with a great beer, one with high quality ingredients and craftsmanship that also tastes great and goes down easy.

Waltrip said: “Partnering with Lipman Brothers and bringing our beers to Tennessee is a dream come true for me. I am so looking forward to everyone walking into their favorite bar, restaurant or retailer and saying ‘I’ll have a Two Time!’”

Bryan Sperber, CEO, Michael Waltrip Brewing Company, said: “We’re pleased to have Lipman Brothers distribute our Two-Time beers throughout most of Tennessee. Michael has so many fans in the state who have been asking for our beers. It’s exciting to be able to share our creations with them and hopefully make some new friends in Tennessee, too.”

Sperber added: “Our new brewery in Bristol opens this summer. Fans of our beers will be able to visit us and sample some of our specialty beers and seltzers that will only be available at the brewery, as well.

“We are excited about partnering with Michael and the Michael Waltrip Brewing Team and look forward to being part of their success in Tennessee,” said Robert Lipman, Chairman & CEO, Lipman Brothers.

Lipman was founded in 1939, and was the first distributor of wine and spirits in Tennessee and the first to offer Jack Daniels after prohibition. Lipman will carry all three MWB styles of beer in both cans and draught. The company operates in Middle, Southeast, East and Tri-Cities regions of Tennessee.

Meanwhile, Michael Waltrip Brewing Company’s Tap room and Brewery will operate inside a 10,000 square foot historical building that was originally constructed in 1910 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Plans include adding a covered patio, two floors of indoor tap rooms, and two unique private party rooms that can be reserved.
