KJO holiday concert kicks season off in Knoxville Dec. 5-6
Get in the holiday spirit and kick off the most wonderful time of the year with the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra holiday concert: “A Swingin’ Christmas with Regina Carter.” Visit the beautiful Tennessee Theatre in downtown Knoxville on Thursday, Dec. 5, or Friday. Dec. 6, for the hippest concert of the season.
Violinist Regina Carter joins the band this year to make your season brighter, playing holiday favorites performed in the styles of Duke Ellington, Count Basie and more. A recipient of the MacArthur “genius” award and a Doris Duke Artist Award, Carter has long been a fan favorite at the world’s top festivals. Her performance credits include a who’s who of jazz, plus artists as diverse as Mary J. Blige, Billy Joel and Dolly Parton.
