Downtown Knoxville kicks off holiday celebrations Friday, November 24


Holiday celebrations in downtown Knoxville kick off on Friday, November 24th. Regal Celebration of Lights is set for Friday. Admission is free to this annual lighting of the City of Knoxville's 42' Christmas tree. The event will be held in Krutch Park Ext. from 6:00pm-9:00pm. There will be live music, train rides, pictures with Santa, face painting, and more.

Regal Celebration of Lights event includes:
• WDVX Holiday Ho Ho Ho Down will be on Bill Lyons Pavilion on the Market Square Stage from 6:30pm to 9:00pm
• Market Street will have local businesses doing crafts with children
• Home Depot is featuring a Little Elves Workshop
• Make a card to be sent to our soldiers with American Red Cross ‘Cards for Heroes'
• See a miniature train set

Music from Wild Things will start at 5:30pm. The lighting of the tree ceremony begins at 6pm. Other activities will begin after.

Holidays on Ice Also kicking off on Friday, November 24 is Holidays on Ice presented by Home Federal Bank. Holidays on Ice will run through January 7, 2018 at Market Square. Enjoy skating under the stars and twinkling lights while listening to music every night. There may even be a panda sighting by the Holidays on Ice Mascot, 'Peppermint Panda'!

Admission price includes entry fee, skate rental and unlimited time on ice! We accept cash, Visa and Mastercard. Brand new skates for 2017 season!

Window Wonderland
November 24, 2017 - January 7, 2018
Knoxville will turn into a Peppermint Trail with windows of restaurants and merchants decorated with the peppermint theme. Merchants and restaurants will also have peppermint items for sale!

WIVK Christmas Parade
December 1, 2017, 7:00pm
Parade will start on Church Avenue near the Coliseum, then turn right onto Gay Street, then turn right onto Jackson Avenue and will disband in the Old City past Barley’s. Bands, dancers, lighted floats, characters and Santa Claus parade down Gay Street and brings fun holiday spirit to all.

DOWNTOWN PARKING:
Parking is free at all city-owned garages after 6 p.m. on weekdays and throughout the weekend, except for specific special events. City-owned garages include the Locust Street garage, the State Street garage and the Market Square garage.
