MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Myrtle Beach's own Broadway at the Beach was listed first on a list compiled by Google of the most popular tourist attractions in the United States. The list was compiled using Google Maps List, a new functionality the tech company released in February. The tool allows users to create lists of locations and share them with others through text message, email and social media.

Broadway at the Beach tops the list that includes the World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta, Georgia and The Venice Beach Boardwalk in California. One article claims, "This massive entertainment center makes our hometown malls look positively pedestrian. Featuring live shows, shopping, carnival rides, and attractions like Dave & Buster's, Broadway at the Beach demands to be added to your beach vacation to-do list."

Broadway at the Beach's mass appeal can be accredited to some of its long standing attractions like WonderWorks, an indoor, interactive museum and Ripley's Aquarium, home to mermaids, stingrays, sharks, piranhas and more. South Carolina's number one tourist attraction is as inviting as ever with the addition of new restaurants, specialty shops and entertainment options.

"Broadway at the Beach continues to bring new and exciting shopping, dining and entertainment experiences to the center," said Melissa Armstrong, marketing director at Burroughs & Chapin, parent company of Broadway at the Beach. "Our guests, many of whom visit each year, love exploring the fresh, new experiences added while continuing to enjoy their favorite Broadway at the Beach venues."

Dave & Buster's opened June 5 in The Avenue region of the center, offering chef-crafted cuisine and all of the newest games, along with unmatched sports viewing. The 40,000-square-foot complex provides guests an extensive gaming arcade and a full bar with an arsenal of unique mixed drinks. Exciting restaurants like Wahlburgers, American Tap House and Hard Rock Cafe are also located in The Avenue.

New to Broadway at the Beach is the Southern, full-service restaurant Paula Deen's Family Kitchen, featuring Deen family recipes and an outstanding view of Lake Broadway. And, Carolina Ale House recently opened next to the tribute show venue Legends in Concert.

A new attraction also recently opened. A 118-foot-tall Ferris Wheel featuring 24 open-air gondolas, LED lighting and a fabulous view of Broadway at the Beach, as well as the surrounding area.

Broadway's restaurants, shops, attractions, and twice weekly fireworks make it a prime summer destination.

Broadway at the Beach is South Carolina's number one tourist, shopping, dining, and entertainment destination attracting millions of visitors annually. Broadway is set on 350 acres in the heart of Myrtle Beach and features world-class shopping, dining and entertainment in a series of magical, interconnected villages, surrounding the 23-acre Lake Broadway. Broadway's distinguished tenant mix has something for the whole family: popular attractions; outstanding restaurants and eateries; extraordinary specialty shops with national and local brands; and first-rate hotels. A past recipient of the South Carolina Governor's Cup, it was deemed the state's best travel destination by the South Carolina Department of Parks, Recreation & Tourism.
