Oak Ridge Civic Music Association’s Chamber Series kicks off October 8th

The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association will open its 2016-17 Chamber Series with Fandango! on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 7:30 PM at the Pollard Auditorium in Oak Ridge. The most exciting new group on Chicago’s musical scene, Fandango! is a toe-tappingly spicy mix of Latin, Spanish, Sephardic, Balkan, and classical sounds founded by four multi-award-winning, globe-trotting virtuosi who hail from Spain, the USA, former Yugoslavia, and the UK, and who have played, separately and together, on the world’s most prestigious stages.

Made of two husband-and-wife virtuoso duos, Fandango! features flutist Eugenia Moliner, guitarist Denis Azabagic, violinist Desiree Ruhstrat, and cellist David Cunliffe. The quartet will perform an eclectic mix of genres, including familiar favorites by Vivaldi and Boccherini, and music by American composer Alan Thomas, Macedonian composer Miroslav Tadic, and more! Audiences are sure to enjoy this festive concert.

The artists will give an educational pre-concert lecture at 7:00 PM in the Pollard Auditorium. Tickets for the concert are $25 for adults; $10 for young adults and youth (29 and under).

The Oak Ridge Civic Music Association presents professional performances in the Oak Ridge community with its symphony, chorus, and chamber music series. Subscription and individual tickets may be purchased online at www.ORCMA.org or by calling (865) 483-5569.

Support for the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association is provided by the Tennessee Arts Commission and WUOT FM 91.9.
