A New Hampshire-based band known as The Soggy Po’ Boys is performing at Barley’s on Monday, July 13th. This New Orleans influenced jazz octet is also gearing up for the release of their new album “No Worse for Wear,” slated for release in September.

The Soggy Po' Boys were born on Mardi Gras, 2012. Since then they have been honing their craft every Tuesday night at venues in their hometown of Dover, New Hampshire. They are kicking off a 12-city tour on July 9th in New York.

Although the Po’ Boys are steeped in tradition, they are also in search of creating tradition all their own. With a repertoire of New Orleans standards, spirituals, contemporary music, and swing tunes, the Po’ Boys offer a lively blend of fun and insanity. The beauty of New Orleans music is that it’s celebrated and appreciated everywhere — from the street corner, to the communing pub, to the theater.

The Soggy Po' Boys are:

Eric Klaxton, Saxophone
Colin Mainella, Trumpet
Zach Lange, Trumfit
Nick Mainella, Saxophone
Mike Effenberger, Piano
Stu Dias, Guitar and Vocals
Brett Gallo, Drums
Claude Fried, Sousaphone
