Movies on Market Square lineup features women baseball players in WWII, Teddy Roosevelt, a macaw from Minnesota, and Dracula



The silver screen will light up Friday nights on Market Square starting September 11 with Driving Miss Daisy. A community-wide vote determined this year's lineup of Knox County Public Library's Movies on Market Square which will also feature women baseball players in WWII, Teddy Roosevelt, a macaw from Minnesota, and Dracula.

Knox County Public Library is hosting the 12th year of Movies on Market Square, which is presented by Lusid Media, to highlight its vast collection of movies and music with more than 25,000 DVDs representing 13,000 titles. The Sights and Sounds Department at Lawson McGhee Library has one of the broadest physical collections of film and music of any public library in the Southeast.

The winners for Movies on Market Square are:
9/11 Driving Miss Daisy (PG, 1989)
9/18 Rio (G, 2011)
9/25 Night at the Museum (PG, 2006)
10/2 NO MOVIE - Black Lillies Concert
10/9 Hotel Transylvania (PG, 2012)
10/16 A League of their Own (PG, 1992)

All movies are rated G or PG, but parents are encouraged to check out the films to make sure they are right for their family. The series will run for five Friday nights, from September 11 through October 16, with no movie on October 2. Movies begin at dusk, and well behaved dogs are welcome. Moviegoers should bring a lawn chair or blanket to sit on.
