Mabry-Hazen House: 8th Annual Boomsday, Bluegrass & Barbeque Event

On Sunday, September 6, 2015, the Mabry-Hazen House will host its 8th annual Boomsday™, Bluegrass, and Barbeque celebration.

Attendees will be able to sit on a hilltop where they will have a great view of Knoxville’s fireworks show, good food, and live music recommended by WDVX. Tours of the historic home will begin at 6 p.m, and dinner will be served at 7:30. Alcohol is BYOB. A new addition this year will be a silent auction offering a variety of fun and exciting items.

Voted one of the best places to watch the annual Boomsday™ fireworks show, Mabry-Hazen House also offers food and entertainment without the traffic. Tickets are $60 per adult and children under 12 are free when accompanied by a ticket holder. Tickets are limited to 200 adults to ensure a quality event. This event has sold out for the past five years. Purchase your tickets in advance to guarantee your attendance. There is plenty of parking and the site offers easy access to I-40 without traffic concerns. The Mabry-Hazen House was built in 1858 and is strategically located on the highest hill east of downtown Knoxville with spacious views in all directions. The home was occupied and defended by both armies during the Civil War. It housed three generations of the same family for 130 years; the museum showcases one of the largest original family collections in America.
