Jazzspirations LIVE Celebrates Jazz Appreciation Month on April 11th
Knoxville’s Smooth Jazz Concert Series, Jazzspirations LIVE, has planned a special Jazz Appreciation Month Celebration in April. The monthly jazz concert series was established in Knoxville in January of 2014 and has already outgrown two venues. It now calls the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park in downtown Knoxville its home. Performances happen on the second Saturday of every month with a consistently stellar lineup. Past headliners have included Grammy-nominated vocalist CHANTAE CANN, the touring saxophonist for Stevie Wonder – RYAN KILGORE, the touring bassist for Musiq Soulchild and Janelle Monae – TEJA VEAL, Long Island jazz guitarist MATT MARSHAK and Seattle based Smooth Jazz veteran saxman JEFF KASHIWA.
Jazzspirations LIVE is a brainchild of jazz air-personality and recording artist Brian Clay. Clay hosts a weekly jazz show on Knoxville’s 99.7fm WJBE, Sundays from 3pm-6pm called Jazzspirations with Brian Clay. The radio show began airing in Knoxville in September of 2013 to such a positive reception, Brian decided to extend the reach of the music by creating live performances and inviting the artists on the radio show playlist to perform with him. Jazzspirations LIVE was born!
April is Jazz Appreciation Month and Jazzspirations LIVE will feature live performances by jazz guitarist Terence Young as well as a special pre-concert performance by the Knoxville Youth Jazz Orchestra.
Jazzspirations LIVE happens on Saturday, April 11th at the Holiday Inn World’s Fair Park, 525 Henley Street in downtown Knoxville. Doors open at 5:30pm and music from the Knoxville Youth Jazz Orchestra will begin at 6:30pm. Details are at www.jazzspirationsLIVE.com.
