Families, community invited to Inaugural Festival on the Hill
KNOXVILLE — Gresham Middle School is presenting its first-ever Festival on the Hill, an event for families and community to celebrate and promote the arts and literature. This free event is May 1, 2015, 4-7 p.m., in the auditorium and on the grounds of Gresham Middle School (500 Gresham Road). This should be a beautiful event with the dogwoods in bloom on the hill.
The family-friendly event includes the following activities:
• Storytelling by Charles Maynard, outdoorsman, renowned storyteller, first director of Friends of the Smokies
and author of more than 40 books
• Musical performances by the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra, Central High School Band, Gresham Middle School Band,
and Gresham Middle School Chorus
• Historical re-enactment by Karns High School teacher Gordon Sisk
• Drama presentation by Central High School drama department, performing scenes from The Glass Menagerie
• Dance performance by Gresham Middle School Dance Team
