This month’s featured artwork is by painters and mixed media artists; Kathleen Kinney, Lynn Corsi Bland, Judy Bolinger and Foxie Roxie. Local duo New Rain will be providing Live Music on the porch. The Cabin Café will be featuring items on their menu with ingredients purchased from Gatlinburg Farmers’ Market vendors.

Kathleen Kinney of Maryville is a mixed media artist working in 3 dimensions. While painting and photography are her primary medias, she also uses fiber and paper to create depth to illustrate her message. With her work she chooses to show life in the in between moments (the big and small) where nothing is easy, nothing is ordinary, where whack-a-doodles reign and the absurdity of life is absolute.

Lynn Corsi Bland, of Gatlinburg, is a mixed media artist, using acrylic, collage and encaustic paint. Her work which uses encaustics (wax paint) with found objects creates some unique compositions and has won her national recognition. Her work has been displayed in Ohio, Atlanta, New Mexico, New York City and at Gatlinburg’s local gem, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.

Judy Bolinger is a watercolor artist from Sevierville. Her paintings have been exhibited in a juried exhibition at the Iowa State Fair, The Arrowmont School of Arts, Fountain City Art Center, and Fountain City Art Guild. The paintings have also been shown at The Andrea Wilson Gallery and The Carousel Gallery. They can currently be seen at Brandywine Pottery and Woodland Tiles in Gatlinburg.

Foxie Roxie, also a mixed media artist from Gatlinburg, works from hand painted tiles, carved chess sets, to abstract paintings. Her work is fresh and inspired, and you will certainly want to check out this young, up and coming artist.

New Rain is a local duo whose musical variety will take you on an acoustical journey through time and pleasure. Having shared the stage with or opened for Gregg Allman, Three Dog Night, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Lacy J. Dalton and more, Gary's own "locomotive" style on his black 12-string guitar is soulfully suited to his smoky voice. Blended with Jane's pure, wide-ranging vocals and harmonies, they are truly a magical duo you will not soon forget.

The Cabin Café is located in the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community at 600 Glades Road, #10, Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
