KNOXVILLE — Many of the animals at the Knoxville Zoo enjoy cooler weather outdoors and so can you. During the month of December, the Knoxville Zoo if offering “Buy One, Get One Free” admission tickets. So bundle up and have a winter blast at the zoo with a family member or friend.
Knoxville Zoo is offering “Buy One, Get One Free” admission tickets during the month of December to encourage guests to discover why winter is a great time to visit.
Red pandas and river otters actively enjoy the cooler temperatures. On days when the temperature drops below 40 degrees, some animals will be moved indoors, but visitors can still see many of their favorite animals, including elephants, gorillas, penguins, chimpanzees and reptiles, in their indoor viewing areas.
A December trip to the zoo may even include a visit with Santa Claus too, when Pilot Flying J’s Wee Play Adventure indoor play area hosts Santa’s Village, a special holiday encounter and photo opportunity. Santa’s Village will be open for Christmas wishes and photos December 4th through 7th and 11th through 14th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. each day.
The Safari Grill, located inside the zoo, serves full family meals and will be open during winter months to satisfy your hungry winter appetite.
Half-price admission tickets for other winter months can be purchased at the zoo ticket window during regular zoo hours and online at knoxvillezoo.org. Discounted admission tickets must be used by Feb. 28, 2015, and cannot be combined with any other promotion, discount, or coupon.
Knoxville Zoo is Knoxville’s largest year-round attraction. Located off exit 392 from Interstate 40, the zoo is open every day except Christmas Day. The zoo is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Admission and ticket sales stop one-hour before the zoo closes.
