KNOXVILLE – The Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville announces a call for entries for "Then & Now," a juried exhibition that celebrates the ten-year anniversary of the Emporium Center by hosting 20-25 artists to showcase two of their works in a side-by-side format: a piece from “then” (at least ten years old) and a piece from “now” (created within the last two years). Fine art works in all styles and genres from both emerging and established artists will be selected by the jurors for exhibition in the main gallery of the beautifully-restored Emporium Center at 100 S. Gay Street, Knoxville’s downtown arts anchor location, from July 4-25, 2014. The Emporium is free and open to the public Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Saturday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.
The deadline for entries to be received is midnight on Sunday, June 1, 2014. Interested persons may download the entry form or view the information online at www.knoxalliance.com/10.html.
The call for entries is open to all artists. Works do not have to be for sale. At least one work in the set of "then" and "now" should not have shown in any Alliance exhibition at the Emporium Center or in any Alliance satellite gallery (including Knoxville McGhee Tyson Airport). Entries must be original works in the following categories: 2-D (painting, drawing, mixed media, printmaking, photography) and 3-D (sculpture of all media). The nonrefundable entry fee is $20 for up to three sets of entries (FREE for Arts & Culture Alliance members). An entry set is considered two works: a piece from “then” (at least ten years old) and a piece from “now” (created within the last two years). A $200 prizes goes to the best "set" in show.
