Santa Claus comes to Tellico Village today

TELLICO VILLAGE, TN -- Santa Claus is coming to Tellico Village Library today. The author of the increasingly popular series, the Santa Claus Trilogy, will be making a local appearance at the Author's Fair at the Tellico Village Library on Friday, October 18th. Santa will be joined by a number of authors including Sam Venable, the humor columnist for the Knoxville News Sentinel. Venable is the winner of numerous writing awards and is the author of 10 books.

Joe Moore as he is more officially known, has written and published two novels in his trilogy with the third to be released this coming January. He not only writes about Santa Claus and the North Pole, but he spends the last two months of the year portraying Santa all over East Tennessee in his custom made suits. Moore is an expert in all things Santa Claus and does interviews as Santa discussing events at the North Pole and hot Christmas toys for kids. This Author's Fair is the Tellico Village Public Library's first.

The Fair is scheduled for October 18 in the library courtyard from 11:00am-1:00pm and a gourmet sandwich box lunch is available for $10. The box lunches need to be pre-ordered and tables will be set up for those who choose to eat and browse. Authors will be reading selections of their books during the noon hour and each author will have their books for sale to autograph. Twenty local authors including Venable and Moore will be present. A mini book sale of used books will also be held in their conference room as well.

Moore describes his novels as such: Believe Again, The North Pole Chronicles begins the trilogy by showing how the elves and the North Pole came into being. It actually takes place from the late 18th century and proceeds through the generations and centuries until modern time. It shows how the elves chose Santa Claus and how the various legends came to exist.

Faith, Hope & Reindeer is a present day snapshot of a week in the North Pole where several families that are struggling to do good have lost their faith and hope from the problems of their lives. They receive an all-expense paid vacation but they don't know their final destination. They end up in the North Pole where Santa and the village restore their faith and hope and they learn that miracles still exist. This book is currently being planned as a major motion picture scheduled for Christmas, 2015 release.

Moore said he will be selling and autographing his works, which make the perfect holiday present as they will put the meanest Scrooge into a joyful Christmas spirit.

Moore is one of the authors inducted into the Authors Guild of Tennessee and said that he will be appearing with many of his fellow authors from the Guild, including Sam Bledsoe who writes Science Fiction, and Cheryl Peyton who writes Agatha Christie style novels.
