New Orleans band, Flow Tribe, performing at Preservation Pub July 18

flow tribeKNOXVILLE - New Orleans band Flow Tribe will be bringing their high energy EP filled with funk and soul to the Preservation Pub on Thursday, July 18.

The new generation of New Orleans funk-rock continues to thrive in the Big Easy with the hard-hitting sounds of Flow Tribe, who debuted a brand new EP Painkiller on May 14. Coming off of the success of their most recent New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival performance described by USA Today as “a rollicking performance” as well as a “visual spectacle,” these native New Orleanians continue to showcase why they are so “bizarrely irresistible.”

Painkiller harnesses in the electricity and personality of Flow Tribe’s one-of–a-kind live show and condenses it into a digitally mastered creation of thrilling guitar licks and strong bass sure to make you move both your body and soul. With its nuances of interjecting horns, the EP truly brings it home to give listeners a feeling New Orleans is famed for—rock and blues laced with funk!

"Painkiller was created to be addicting. These songs were crafted to be undeniable: grooves that won't quit and melodies that get stuck in your mind. This is Flow Tribe in high definition," says lead singer and trumpeter K.C. O’Rorke on creating the latest EP. The first single, “Hungry for You” is nothing short of attention grabbing and just downright fun. It’s loaded with tasty tones, a southern drawl, and it won’t leave you hungry for the horn.

Once featured on MTV’s Real World New Orleans, Flow Tribe’s unique mix of homegrown rock and blues comes at you with the delicacy of a sledgehammer. They create “backbone cracking music,” a soul shaking mixture of styles and sounds. Flow Tribe’s diversity of sound is undeniable, with dueling guitars and a smoking hot rhythm section accompanied by washboard and a trumpet. These are 6 seasoned performers who have shared the stage with Trombone Shorty, Galactic, Juvenile, and John Fogerty, just to name a few.

Having seen the stage of VooDoo Music Experience, South by Southwest, Houston International Festival, and New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, this relentlessly touring band plays major venues and festivals around the country bringing a traveling street parade with them. Flow Tribe will add the new music into their set list at several upcoming performances including New Orleans Food and Wine Experience, Bay Bridge Festival, Wakarusa Festival and many more.
