MARYVILLE, TN -- The Foothills Community Players will present Noël Coward's classic comedy "Hay Fever" at the Clayton Center for the Arts for five performances Feb. 21-24.

Set in the Roaring Twenties, "Hay Fever" centers on the eccentric, theatrical Bliss family led by fading actress Judith Bliss and four weekend guests to their country home —- a flapper, a boxer, a socialite and a diplomat. Hilarity ensues as the guests unwittingly and unwillingly become pawns in Bliss family games, resulting in a farce of false emotion and extremely bad manners.

Performances on Feb. 21, 22 and 23 are at 7:30 p.m.; matinee performances on Feb. 23 and 24 are at 2 p.m. The Clayton Center for the Arts is located at 502 E. Lamar Alexander Pkwy. in Maryville.

All tickets for opening night on Thursday, Feb. 21, are $10. Tickets for all other performances are $17.50 for adults and $15.50 for seniors and students with college ID. Tickets are available at the Clayton Center box office and also online at www.claytonartscenter.com for an additional service fee.

"We know audiences will love this this comedy of surprising relationships, furtive flirting and narcissism gone wild," said Foothills Community Players board president Tom Ireland.

Foothills Community Players furnishes an outlet for the creative talents of its volunteers, offering opportunities for individuals, with or without formal theatrical backgrounds, to get involved in all areas of theatrical production - both on stage and behind the scenes.
