NASCAR Driver Danica Patrick to visit The Island in Pigeon Forge

PIGEON FORGE, TN — The Island in Pigeon Forge will host racing superstar Danica Patrick for a special appearance before she heads to Bristol Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race. Adding to its reputation as a must-see entertainment destination, The Island is pleased to bring the most successful female driver in racing history to Pigeon Forge. Danica will be at The Island on Thursday, August 22nd between 5:00 and 7:00 pm, where she will be signing autographs and greeting fans.

Tickets to the meet and greet will be given out to the first 100 guests in line at The Island on the day of the event. Additional tickets will also be given away an hour before Danica arrives on the day of the event. Fans can also win tickets by joining The Island Insiders on The Island’s website at www.islandinpigeonforge.com.

Bringing Danica Patrick to The Island is just the first celebrity appearance in an onslaught of special events that The Island in Pigeon Forge is committed to offering. Open since June, The Island in Pigeon Forge has quickly become one of the most popular entertainment destinations in the Southeast.

The Island in Pigeon Forge is a 22-acre mixed use entertainment development that opened Phase 1 in June 2013, with a total investment of over $100 million. It features established eateries, attractions and shops such as: Auntie Anne’s, Cinnabon, Island Yogurt, The Fudgery, Poynor’s Pommes Frites, Timberwood Grill, Mellow Mushroom, Dude’s Daiquiris, Arcade City, The Flying Horse Carousel, The Euro-Bungy Dome, The Island Trading Post and The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel Gift Shop. Phase 2 will begin construction in the fall with an anticipated spring 2014 opening and is set to feature a $2.7 million show fountain covering 11,000 square feet, and a 132 room four star hotel. The centerpiece of the development is The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, the largest observation wheel in Tennessee.
