Eddie Fisker is the dubious mastermind of the “gizmo” – an all-in-one hand held device that revolutionizes communication. Sound familiar? Anthony Clarvoe’s CTRL+ALT+DELETE eavesdrops on the hot-wired world of high-pressure scheming and the manipulation that accompanies a breakthrough in technology. The production runs October 24 – November 10, 2013 in the Clarence Brown’s Lab Theatre. Very popular at the Box Office, several performances have already sold out. Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $12 for non-UT students and $5 for UT students with ID.

“The play is a satire of the corporate market place. Pitting idealism against the harsh realities of the business world creates a suspenseful and "telling tale" about youthful dreams, ambition, disillusion, and greed in the often cutthroat corporate environment. What ultimately happens in the play offers a glimmer of hope that there is real humanity within the seemingly unforgiving competitive world of big business,” said Director Terry Silver-Alford.

Terry Silver-Alford (Director) is a member of the UT Theatre faculty and teaches Musical Theatre Performance, Introduction to the Theatre and Acting. He has worked professionally as a director, musical director, performer and composer in theaters across the country, including the California Theatre Center, Madison Repertory, Omaha Playhouse, Nebraska Caravan, Augusta Barn-Michigan, and Fireside Theatre-Wisconsin. CBT directing credits include: The Twenty Fifth Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Little Shop of Horrors, Guys and Dolls, Assassins, Tick, Tick…Boom!, Parade, Recent Tragic Events and Into the Woods.

Playing the role of Gus Belmont, Terry Weber is an Associate Professor of Theatre at UT and volunteers as Artistic Director of The WordPlayers. He has performed in regional theaters across the country. CBT credits include: The Little Prince, Tartuffe, A Christmas Carol, Amadeus, and Charley’s Aunt.

The remaining cast is comprised of UT undergraduate students. Drew Barksdale (Carbury Grendall) is a senior double majoring in Theatre and Journalism. Mackenzie Mathews (Toria Bruno) is a freshman double majoring in Theatre and Spanish. Ethan Roeder (Tom Xerox) is a sophomore studying Musical Theatre and Interpretation through the College Scholars Program. Alex Ward (Eddie Fisker) is a senior pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance. Paige Woodward (Marie) is a senior majoring in Theatre.

The design team is comprised of UT Theatre graduate and undergraduate students. Jason Ammons (Scenic Designer) is pursuing a graduate degree at in Scenic Design. Poua Yang (Costume Designer) is a second year MFA candidate in Costume Design. Nick Brown (Lighting Designer) is a senior studying Theatre and Lighting Design. Kevin McClintock (Sound Designer) is a senior studying Theatre with a concentration in Lighting Design and Technology.

“This production is part of the Clarence Brown Theatre’s commitment to training. Our Lab Theatre productions are an important part of our mission to prepare the students in our Master of Fine Arts and undergraduate programs to take their place as theatre artists. We hope you enjoy the play, and also enjoy the experience of witnessing the next generation of theatre professionals emerge,” said Calvin MacLean, UT Theatre Department Head and Clarence Brown Theatre Producing Artistic Director.

With a dual mission to train the next generation of theatre artists and to provide top quality professional theatre, the Clarence Brown Theatre at the University of Tennessee Knoxville is one of only 12 academic LORT (League of Resident Theatre) institutions in the nation. Under the artistic direction of Calvin MacLean, the CBT season runs from August through May and features eight productions ranging from musicals to drama. The remaining 2013-2014 season includes: A Christmas Carol, The Whipping Man, The Trip to Bountiful, Wrens and Spamalot.
