Old-time artisans, more than 175, will exhibit and sell their works throughout the grounds, including quilting, basket weaving, whittling, chair-caning, lye soap making, and construction of old-time musical instruments. There will also be live demonstrations of life in pioneer days as well as demonstrations of old-time mountain activities like rail-splitting and spinning and weaving.

Lots of food vendors will be on site to serve up Southern food with real Southern hospitality. Some of the food will be prepared on wood-burning stoves and in iron kettles.

Music and demonstrations will begin at 9:00 a.m. Biscuits and hot coffee will be served starting at 8:30 a.m.

Tennessee Fall Homecoming at the museum is one of the nation's largest and most authentic old-time mountain, crafts, and music festivals.

If you want to stay all day, you can bring your own chairs and leave them all the days you attend. Smoking is prohibited in all areas. Coolers are not permitted; however, food and beverages are provided at reasonable prices by vendors. Parking is free during Homecoming. Some handicap parking is available.
