Meadow Lark Music Festival will be In Tune with Nature on Saturday, June 23

KNOXVILLE -- This year's Meadow Lark Music Festival will be In Tune with Nature on Saturday, June 23 from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Hosted by WDVX Radio and Ijams Nature Center will host the event.

The 2012 lineup includes the widely popular newgrass folk-rock pioneers Acoustic Syndicate, renowned for their original material that conveys a positive message of conservation, sustainability, and happiness. The festival lineup also features Mary Gauthier with Tania Elizabeth, The New Familiars, Sam Quinn and Japan Ten, Ganasita, and other locally popular bands in a full day of performances in the meadow of Ijams Nature Center. The event is being supported by individuals and companies, including New Belgium Brewing known for its philosophy of environmental stewardship.

The Meadow Lark music festival will include art and craft vendors, children's activities, educational displays, and food vendors. Visitors are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair, but leave dogs and coolers at home.

Tickets will be available the day of the show for $25 and in advance for $20 at www.brownpapertickets.com. Other sponsors of Meadow Lark include the City of Knoxville, Elizabeth Eason Architecture, LLC, Three Rivers Market, knoxmusictoday.com, Tomato Head, and WBIR-TV.

Ijams Nature Center is a 275-acre wildlife sanctuary and environmental learning center providing outdoor connections and experiences through education, conservation, and recreation.
