KNOXVILLE -- A fun new restaurant will open in Knoxville on July 31. Chuy's Tex-Mex restaurant, known for its authentic and fresh food, will open its first Knoxville location in front of the new Kroger Marketplace at Cedar Bluff Road and Kingston Pike.

Chuy's features hand-rolled tortillas and margaritas made with fresh-squeezed lime juice, quality service, and eclectic décor, which includes an Elvis Presley Shrine and dog wall.

Chuy's manager, Gil Minor, said "The first time I visited Chuy's, I knew I had to bring it to our community." "It's not your typical restaurant experience. Chuy's is a fun, hip place to eat and socialize. The entertaining atmosphere, incredible food that is made from scratch daily, and the great relationship Chuy's has with the community make it perfect for Knoxville."

Dane Dobson, a Knoxville native, will serve as kitchen manager.

Chuy's already has gotten involved with the local community by supporting STAR, the Shangri-La Therapeutic Academy of Riding. Chuy's also will host a booth at the Bark in the Park event in Market Square on June 9. Attendees are invited to stop by the Chuy's booth and donate $10 to have a photo of their dog taken to be framed and hung on the new restaurant's dog wall. All proceeds will benefit the Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley.

Chuy's plans to hire about 170 staff members for its first Knoxville location. The restaurant is currently accepting applications for all part-time positions including servers, cocktail servers, hosts, bus employees and all kitchen positions. Chuy's is looking for employees who are hard working with big smiles. Chuy's staff can expect high volume with lots of fun.

"At Chuy's, we have a lot of pride in our employees," said Minor. "We believe in allowing our staff to be themselves and feel empowered to make sure every guest has the best Chuy's experience possible. We are looking to hire the very best to join the Chuy's family in Knoxville."

Starting June 18, interested parties can apply in person at the hiring trailer on site at 9235 Kingston Pike, Monday-Saturday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
