UT School of Music to present a community sing of Handel's Messiah

KNOXVILLE -- The University of Tennessee School of Music will present a Community Sing of Handel's Messiah on Sunday, April 15 at 4:00 pm at the UT Alumni Memorial Building, Cox Auditorium.

The public is invited to join the UT Chamber Singers and Concert Choir in singing many of Handel's beloved arias and choruses, accompanied by the UT Chamber Orchestra.

Outstanding vocalists from the UT School of Music will perform solos.

Dr. Angela Batey, Interim Director of the School of Music and Director of Choral Activities will be conducting.

The concert is free. Carolers who own a Messiah music score are encouraged to bring it. A limited number of scores will be available for sale at the door ($20). Proceeds will benefit scholarships in the UT School of Music.

The Alumni Memorial Building is located at 1408 Middle Drive, Knoxville, TN 37996 on the campus of the University of Tennessee.
