Movies on The Square Ready to Kick off Fall Series

Knoxville's popular outdoor movie series kicks off on Market Square on September 9th. Organized by Knox County Public Library, the series will run through October 14th.

This free family fun Friday night event will be feature six nights of popular movies which were selection by popular vote from six categories of movies. The winners are:


September 9 - Hook (PG - 1991)

September 16 - How to Train Your Dragon (PG - 2010)

September 23 - Lady and the Tramp (G - 1955)

September 30 - Star Trek (PG-13 - 2009)

October 7 - Footloose (PG - 1984)

October 14 - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (PG - 2009)


All movies are rated PG-13 or less, but parents are encouraged to check out the films to make sure they are right for their family.

This year, the library has partnered with Pet-Safe to bring you the free movies. Pre-show activities will feature pet tips and advice, as well as a variety of four-legged festivities. The furry fun will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the movies begin at dusk. All pets must be very well behaved, and all city rules regarding pets must be observed.
