For those who appreciate documentaries, the entire month of December features a great line-up on the Documentary Channel (DOC). The top documentary films of the year will be shown every night in December starting December 1 with the very moving Oscar® nominee "Operation Homecoming."

"Operating Homecoming" illuminates the extraordinary experiences of American servicemen and women through their own powerful stories. Based on the acclaimed NEA-sponsored book of the same name, this film offers a profound look at the lives of those serving in America's armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Distinguished actors like Robert Duvall, Beau Bridges, and Aaron Eckhart give voice to the poems, stories, essays, letters, and journal entries of people on the frontlines.

The list of 31 films was voted into the line-up by Documentary Channel staff.

The public will be able to vote for DOC's 2011 Audience Award and also be eligible to win one of a wide variety of prizes, including iPads, a BOSE CineMate System, Sony Bloggie Camcorders, "Best of DOC" DVD packages, and other items. The sweepstakes begins December 1, 2011 at 9 a.m. ET and ends January 5, 2012 at 4:59 p.m. ET. Complete sweepstakes details, rules and regulations are available online at www.DocumentaryChannel.com/bestofdoc.
