Knox County Public Library now offers Zinio, a new downloadable magazine service

75 titles ranging from "National Geographic" and "Newsweek" to "Martha Stewart Living" and "ESPN the magazine" are available for download

ziniaKNOXVILLE — Knox County Public Library today announced a new service that allows library cardholders to download current magazines to a variety of electronic devices. Zinio for Libraries provides digital access to 75 full color, interactive magazines that span subjects from art and photography to science and technology. The service, which includes titles for adults, teens and children, continues the Library's focus on providing digital content to current cardholders. Awarded Best New Database of 2012 by Library Journal, Zinio is the world’s largest newsstand, offering multi-user access to popular publications.

Through www.knoxlib.org, library patrons will have unlimited simultaneous access to complete digital magazines, which can easily be viewed on any Internet-enabled device inside or outside of the library. Zinio’s unique technology digitally recreates a magazine page for page, including full color pictures, intuitive navigation, key word article search and interactive elements such as audio and video. Newsweek, Martha Stewart Living, National Geograhic, ESPN the magazine, and CG Magazine are just a few of the popular titles available.

"Our selection of digital content continues to be a top priority as we keep pace with the changing tides of technology. Zinio provides excellent service and is simple to use."

Current issues: new issues are released simultaneously with the print edition and are ready for immediate download.
Easy browsing: ability to browse the library's collection of titles one at a time and search capabilities for favorite magazines by title or subject.
Manage collection: using the personal account, patrons have the opportunity to check out the magazines and read them on their computer (both PC and Mac) or access the content on a portable media device. (Note: viewing options, including the ability to download or view the content while online, may differ based on the device and/or magazine publisher.)
No limits: patrons can check out as many issues as desired and keep them in their account as long as they wish.
