Knoxville's new art as entertainment studio, Painting with a Twist
In our world of interactive games and interactive media, Painting with a Twist opens in Knoxville to bring new meaning to 'interactive'. Rather than creating virtual art, we offer a chance for folks to create art and walk out the door at the end of their session with a finished painting! No previous art experience is necessary. Local artists will offer step-by-step instructions to the class and will patiently walk through each step of creating the painting. To enroll, participants simply check the calendar to see the available classes and sign-up on-line for the painting they wish to paint. Here's the twist: Bring your own beverage and snacks, bring your friends, but there is no need to bring your inner Van Gogh. We supply the canvas, paint, aprons and encouragement.
The local Knoxville location is owned by Angie Wallace & Patty Walden. Both are experienced business women with a desire to bring a fun entertainment option to the area. While most evening classes are restricted to adults, special classes are offered for kids and families. Private parties can also be booked at the location. Angie Wallace says, "What could be more fun than gathering a bunch of your best friends and having a birthday celebration at Painting with a Twist. Everyone leaves with a gift of their own!"
Painting with a Twist was conceived and launched only three years ago by two enterprising women in the New Orleans area who hoped to offer an opportunity to those whose lives had been so dramatically impacted by Katrina. A fun and creative way to "get away from it all" was born. They believe that Painting with a Twist has grown and thrived during the recession because a good time is had by one and all. Wonderful memories are created at each class AND the customer leaves with a painting which he or she will proudly hang at home or give as a gift.
