Kyle Horner selected Young Engineer of the Year

Kyle Horner, Civil Engineer with Robert G. Campbell & Associates (RGC&A), has been selected by the Knoxville Chapter of the Tennessee Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) as Young Engineer of the Year. Horner, an honors graduate Civil Engineer from the University of Tennessee, serves as manager of firm’s Sevier County office.

kyle hornerAs a UT senior, Mr. Horner interned in RGC&A’s Knoxville office and upon graduation in 2013 began full-time civil engineering for the firm. In 2015 Horner became office manager of the Sevier County office. As a graduate of Gatlinburg Pittman High School, Horner is very familiar with Sevier County. He performed engineering intern work in Great Smoky Mountains National Park including surveying projects and conditions assessments with Park personnel for cabins, trails and other structures. As a RGC&A Civil Engineer, he immediately performed condition assessments of water and roadway structures following the Gatlinburg wildfires. This assessment allowed design of temporary and permanent solutions to be expedited.

“We are fortunate to have Kyle working in our Sevier County office” said Robert Campbell, Principal RGC&A. “Young engineering talent is critical to our firm as we expand that office.”

Horner serves as a board member on the Sevier County Economic Development Council. He completed the Tennessee Professional Engineers Leadership Development Program in 2015 and Leadership Sevier’s Leadership Tennessee Class of 2016.

Horner was presented the award at the TSPE award luncheon on June 28.
