KNOXVILLE – A Knoxville commercial real estate services firm, Avison Young, is growing again.

The firm has announced that it will soon have a new home thanks to a strong growth trajectory since its founding in 2010. The company will relocate from its current location on Lonas Drive to 630 S. Concord St., the current home of Tombras Group.

“Once the Concord property became available, we quickly worked to secure it. It offers a more modern look with a great outdoor space for client and employee entertainment,” said John Adams, CCIM, SIOR, principal with Avison Young. “The expansion of the commercial real estate industry in East Tennessee continues to drive our growth, and this move is an investment in not only our company’s culture, but will also allow us to better serve the needs of our clients.”

The new location provides Avison Young with a central location in the Knoxville market and includes more than 7,000 square feet compared to 4,000 at the Lonas Dr. property.

“By making this move, we’re placing a permanent stake in the Knoxville market,” added Adams. “The larger space also provides us the opportunity to build on our culture, which is centered on employee growth and a strong commitment to the community.”

Also of note, commercial real estate veteran, Brian Tapp has joined the firm as senior vice president. He joins Avison Young after working with NAI Knoxville for more than a decade. In 2015, he was named to the Greater Knoxville Business Journal's "40 under 40" list and has twice been honored as the Knoxville CCIM Broker of the Year. Tapp is a Knoxville native and University of Tennessee graduate.

“I’m honored to join such a talented team, filled with the area’s top brokers and staff,” said Tapp. “The firm’s reputation and dedication to a terrific culture, as well as its emphasis on relationship development is what sets Avison Young apart.”

With Tapp’s addition, Avison Young brokers have accounted for every East Tennessee CCIM Broker of the Year award.

Currently, Avison Young’s Knoxville office manages 2.1 million square feet of assets, and boasts a year-to-date transaction volume in excess of $121 million. The firm’s team includes more than 20 real estate professionals that have accounted for 20 individual Power Broker Awards since the awards’ inception in 2011.

The company plans to be in its new location as soon as Tombras relocates to its new building at the end of 2017.
