Checks and Balances TV Launches

NASHVILLE, /PRNewswire/ -- Checks and Balances TV (CBTV) announces its official public launch today, on the heels of its popular current show on Financial Resolutions for the New Year. The show broadcasts through its website, www.ChecksandBalances.TV, with a new show airing each Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. EST. This new, entertaining and informative program and interactive site challenges American consumers to dig deeper into today's financial headlines and discover what the news really means to them and their finances. CBTV is committed to bringing financial truth and balanced advice to the nation each week.

"Americans are in a financial dilemma today," explains the show's host, Matthew J. Rettick, a leading authority on personal finance. "Never has there been a greater need for objective financial advice. Our goal is to teach the public how to 'check' facts and 'balance' information to better understand what current headlines mean to them and their money and empower them to make informed financial decisions."

Checks and Balances TV is comprised of eight segments, the most notable of which include: Financial Headlines, an overview of the week's top news stories as they relate to personal finance; Checks and Balances, the process dedicated to checking the facts surrounding financial headlines and balancing the information; and On the Street, a video montage of Matthew Rettick asking consumers nationwide about their thoughts and fears on investing, debt, retirement, current events and much more. While the show has been airing weekly since October, the official public launch coincides with the New Year and is intended to educate, motivate and empower all Americans to commit to their financial resolutions and become "Fiscally Fit" in 2011 and beyond!

The site, www.ChecksandBalances.TV, is comprised of features such as: financial headlines and numbers, wake-up tools, money saving tips, downloads and free reports. An online store is slated for its grand opening later in the year. Users can "Ask Matt" their financial questions, take financial quizzes, participate in polls, rate videos, post comments, connect with CBTV's social networks, share content and more. Users can become members of CBTV for free and gain access to exclusive content and its weekly e-newsletter.

Checks and Balances TV is supported through sponsors and advertisers who see the need for comprehensive, unbiased and balanced financial information, and who agree with the mission of this initiative. Its founding sponsor is American Equity Investment Life Insurance Company.

Checks and Balances TV broadcasts every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. EST on www.ChecksandBalances.TV, and on-demand thereafter.
